Website Down
Submitted by overtounflyer on Sat, 18/07/2009 - 8:13pm
I've raised two tickets with our webhost,
1# Is for the MySQL too many connections error. This means our website goes down.
2# We're out of disk space. The disk space is an issue because I can't access ftp to upgrade modules. It shouldn't be an issue for running the website.

Hi, I'm running a Drupal site. It is rare that there are more than 10 registered and anonymous users, yet I'm getting errors about having too many connections. I received this error at 6:17pm New Zealand Standard Time, 18th of July.. Could you get this fixed, please? Site off-line The site is currently not available due to technical problems. Please try again later. Thank you for your understanding. If you are the maintainer of this site, please check your database settings in the settings.php file and ensure that your hosting provider's database server is running. For more help, see the handbook, or contact your hosting provider.
The mysqli error was: Too many connections.

"We greatly appreciate this opportunity to service you" - Ha ha ha oh that is so wrong. Good to see the problem has been sorted though.
The site has been really laggy for me the last two days, seems to have come right now after logging out and logging in again, not sure
what it was all about though. Oh, and it seems to drop the pictures I load in the "user title" section. Any idea's why this woul dbe happening?

I was wondering what had happened to the User Title pictures. I thought you'd removed them. Possibly this is a MySQL related error. I'd emailed the webhost abou this, at the same tine as the above problem. I've turned the automatic backup off, can you retry with the title pics?

Hello John,
According error "backup_migrate', 'Database backup saved to <em>sites/default/files/backup_migrate/scheduled/TMWiki-2009-07-20T03-25-39.sql.bz", it seems that your forum each time tied to make a full database backup.. You should perform backups only by cron jobs or manually instead of each time you click inside the forum. Should you need additional assistance, have further questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Regards, Aurimas R. Not seen here. I've refreshed the websites caches and my own browsers cache, too. Does anyone else see a set of traffic lights under our names in the comments? Please reply if you see them, or not.

I've just had to reload them again, they seem to be dropping (perhaps when the backups are done?)
Wow, this hosting24 is the
Wow, this hosting24 is the biggest joke ever. I signed up the beginning of the year, and only got about 20 sites up before I started getting calls from all my clients saying their sites would not open, and I realized I couldn't get the phpmyadmin to open, found out it is on it's on server, anyway, after trying to make it work for a few months, I finally had no choice but to change hosting companies. I contacted them, cancelled my service and transferred my accounts. Imagine my surprise when I opened a bank statement 2 months later and find out not only did they not shut down my account, but they also continued to take money out of my bank account every month. I contacted them, figuring this was a simple error, but no, they will not refund the money they stole out of my account, and now they won't even return my emails.
Be very careful who you give your credit card number to, just because someone has a nice website doesn't mean they are reuputable, or that they have any decent services.

Next time I put up a website I'll try the host recommended at http://blamcast.net/an-hosting-review the guy doing the review runs the largest Drupal community site outside of Drupal itself.
